Thousand Island Dressing

Deeply flavoured Thousand Island salad dressing recipe for leafy greens or as a dip.

Thousand Island salad dressing is one of the most popular because it's so flavourful. It goes wonderfully on most green salads and adds a sweetness combined with a little underlaying tartness that can make a simple salad complete.

It's important to let this dressing sit in the refrigerator for at least an hour before using, just to let the flavours mingle. It is always better the next day.

Salads isn't all this dressing is good for either. Use it as a dip for potatoes or French fries, mozzarella sticks, sweet potato wedges, etc.

Ingredients

(Makes 12 servings | Serving size = 2 tablespoons)

  • 1 cup low-fat mayonnaise

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon monk fruit sweetener (or granulated sugar)

  • 2 tablespoons sweet onion, finely minced

  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced

  • 2 tablespoons ketchup

  • 2 tablespoons sweet green relish

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together all the ingredients listed.

Transfer into an airtight container and refrigerate for at least an hour prior to using.
