Spiced Pecans
Perfect for snacking or salads, this spiced pecans recipe is a must have for pecan lovers.
Do you go nuts for spiced pecans?! I do! Crispy, spicy, sweet it’s hard not to! I add them to everything from salads to desserts, or just enjoy them as a snack between meals.
This recipe can be done in the oven instead of the stovetop if desired; however, the stovetop method is much quicker.
If these seem a little too spicy, the level of spice can easily be modify without loosing any of the great flavour.
Ingredients
(Makes 8 servings)
3 tablespoons plant-based butter
2 cups pecan halves
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon chili powder (or paprika for less spicy)
1/4 teaspoon Garam masala
Directions
In skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the pecans and lightly roast them while covering with butter.
Sprinkle in the brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, chili powder (or paprika), and Garam masala, ensuring all the pecans are evenly coated. Continue to stir keeping the nuts coated until they begin to turn slightly crispy (about 5 minutes).
Cool and enjoy! Store leftovers in an airtight container.
