Raspberry Smoothie
Enjoy a sweet and creamy treat with this Valentine's Day raspberry smoothie recipe.
This delicious smoothie is definitely more of a treat than an everyday beverage. However, its pretty pink colour and sweet, creamy taste make it perfect for a special occasion like Valentine's Day, or any day you need a little more cheer.
There is no added sweetener in this recipe, as the the fruits offer enough natural sugars. And though this recipe calls for a pinch of black pepper, you won't taste it. The pepper will help your body absorb the nutrients from the ground flaxseed.
Ingredients
(Makes 2 servings)
2 cups water, cold
1 cup plain yogurt, low-fat (or almond yogurt)
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
pinch ground black pepper
1 cup frozen raspberries (or fresh + extra for optional garnish)
1 frozen banana
Directions
Place all ingredients, in the order listed, into a high-powered blender. Blend on high speed until smooth (about 30 seconds or less). Serve and enjoy!
