Mummy Dogs
Wrapped up and ready for dipping, these mummy hotdogs make a great lunch on Halloween.
For a simple and easy Halloween lunch, try these adorable mummy dogs! Just two ingredients, both store-bought and ready in minutes.
No, not the healthiest meal, but in what way is Halloween healthy? For one day it's nice to have a little fun with your food, and what could be cuter than these. However, I would recommend pure beef wieners, or vegan wieners if needed.
Ingredients
(Makes 6 servings)
6 hotdogs
1 sheet puff pastry dough, thawed
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400°F / 200°C. Prepare a sheet pan lined with parchment paper or silicone liner and set aside.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out one sheet of puff pastry until it reaches a size of 12-inches x 4-inches. Using a sharp knife, cut the pastry into 6 even strips.
Wrap each hotdog in a ribbon of puff pastry dough, leaving a portion of each hotdog visible to act as a face for each mummy.
Place the wrapped hotdogs on the sheet pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the pastry dough is golden brown and the hotdogs are heated through. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before serving with your favourite hotdog condiments.
Optional: Decorate each hotdog face with a few tiny dabs of mustard for eyes.
